White House Comments on Meeting Between Armen Grigoryan and Hikmet Hajiyev

The National Security Advisor of the President of the United States, Jake Sullivan, commented on the meeting between Armenia's Security Council Secretary Armen Grigoryan and Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan Hikmet Hajiyev on his Twitter account. He stated, 'Today I hosted Hikmet Hajiyev and Armen Grigoryan for direct and constructive negotiations. We discussed the importance of avoiding further hostilities and conducting timely and focused negotiations. We also clarified specific steps forward to support stable and lasting peace.'

It should be noted that the Armenian Security Council office announced that the parties discussed the long-term peaceful settlement process of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and the necessity of establishing peace in the region. The elimination of the consequences of recent aggression was emphasized.
