NATO's Stoltenberg Warns Putin: There Can Be No Victory in Nuclear War and It Should Not Be Started
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has warned Russian President Vladimir Putin of severe consequences if he uses nuclear weapons in Ukraine.
As reported by the Daily Mail, he cautioned that any use of nuclear weapons by Russia would be unacceptable and stated that there can be no victory in a nuclear war.
“Any use of nuclear weapons is absolutely unacceptable. It will fundamentally change the nature of the conflict, and Russia must understand that there can be no victory in a nuclear war and it should not be started. When we repeatedly see nuclear rhetoric coming from Russia, from President Putin, it is something we must take seriously, and therefore, we are sending a clear message that there will be severe consequences for Russia,” Stoltenberg said.
Russian President Vladimir Putin, after concluding a televised address regarding partial mobilization on Wednesday, said that the West is attempting to blackmail Moscow with nuclear weapons. He claimed that Washington is pushing Kyiv to move military operations into Russian territory, stressing that nuclear blackmail is already being employed.
