Joe Biden Must Answer This Question: Zakharova

US President Joe Biden is obligated to answer whether the United States has fulfilled its threat to "put an end to" the "Nord Stream" and whether Washington has any connection to the recent accidents in the pipeline. This statement was made by Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

She published a video of Biden's speech on her Telegram channel and quoted his words from early February: "If Russia invades, if tanks or troops cross the Ukrainian border again, then there will be no 'Nord Stream' anymore. We will put an end to that. I promise you, we can do that."

Zakharova emphasized that Biden must answer whether the US executed its threat during the incidents that occurred on September 25 and 26, 2022, which have been preliminarily classified as damage to the pipelines. She indicated that there will be assumptions regarding the explosion.

"The statement about intention has been reinforced with a promise. One must be accountable for their own words. Ignorance of what was said does not exempt one from responsibility. Europe must know the truth," concluded the Foreign Ministry's official representative.

Recall that in the early morning of February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that he had decided on a special military operation against Ukraine, as the Luhansk People's Republic and Donetsk People's Republic had requested assistance. Hostilities in Ukraine have been ongoing for the 216th day.
