Western Countries May Refrain from Increasing Arms Supplies to Ukraine
Western countries may refrain from increasing arms supplies to Ukraine, Bloomberg reports.
Citing a senior EU official, the publication notes that a sharp rise in arms deliveries or the expansion of the nomenclature is unlikely. The reason is that the United States is cautious, and Europe’s main arms stocks are depleting.
According to the publication, it now seems improbable that the EU will supply heavy weaponry to Kyiv again. For instance, in order to transfer Leopard tanks to the Ukrainian side, agreement from Berlin is required. It should be noted that German authorities have not yet granted this agreement.
At the same time, according to the agency's source, there has also been no permission regarding the export of this technology. Additionally, due to the elections and lack of financial resources in Italy, providing assistance to Ukraine has been removed from the priority list of this country's government.
Recall that on the early morning of February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that he had decided on a special military operation against Ukraine because the LPR and DPR had requested assistance.
As of now, the military actions in Ukraine have been ongoing for the 215th day.
