Georgian Deputy Prime Minister on Situation in Lars

Georgian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Culture Tea Tsulukiani believes that there is no need for panic due to the situation at the border with Russia. As the Deputy Prime Minister noted, the monitoring of the Georgia-Russia border is being carried out in compliance with all necessary procedures.

“All agencies involved in border protection, customs control, or other procedures have been mobilized, and their actions are coordinated,” Tsulukiani told reporters.

According to the Imedi television channel, the Ministry of Internal Affairs has increased the number of employees at the Kazbegi crossing point. Georgian Minister of Internal Affairs Vakhtang Gomelauri deems it unnecessary to close the border for Russians.
