US to Impose New Sanctions Against Russia

The United States is prepared to impose new sanctions against Russia if Moscow continues to "annex part of Ukrainian territory by force." This was announced by the White House, as reported by Reuters.

President Joe Biden stated that the referendums in Russia are "a false pretext to attempt to forcibly annex parts of Ukraine, in gross violation of international law, including the UN Charter." He emphasized that the US will never recognize Ukrainian territory as part of another country, as it remains part of Ukraine.
