Turkey Refuses to Recognize Referendums Held in Ukraine
Turkey is not prepared to recognize the results of the referendums taking place in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, announced the spokesperson for the Turkish President. Ibrahim Kalin stated during a broadcast on Turkish NTV that Turkey's position on this matter is the same as it was regarding Crimea.
"We continue to support Ukraine's territorial integrity and sovereignty. We stand alongside Ukraine in this war. Turkey is the only country trying to put an end to the war," Kalin said.
Yesterday, referendums began in the occupied territories of Ukraine—Donetsk, Luhansk, and parts of Kherson and Zaporizhia—regarding joining Russia. Ukraine and the West have declared that they will not accept the results of these "fictional referendums."
