How Many Years of Imprisonment Will Those Who Do Not Report for Conscription Face? Putin Amends Law

In Russia, individuals who fail to report for partial conscription and deserters may face up to 10 years of imprisonment. This applies in cases of voluntary surrender, military personnel desertion, refusal to report for conscription, declining to participate in military operations, violating the conditions of state defense contracts, and a repeated refusal to sign a contract at the order of state defense.

Criminal liability is also stipulated for theft, with sentences of up to 15 years. Additionally, those called up from the reserve for military training will face criminal charges if they fail to appear with contracted servicemen or leave their place of duty without permission.

It is worth noting that Russian President Vladimir Putin announced partial mobilization of Russian citizens in a message to the population on September 21.
