Defense Ministry Spokesperson on Reports of Detachments Arriving from Artsakh to Jermuk
The circulating news that detachments have arrived from Artsakh to assist in the defense of the Jermuk borders during Azerbaijan's recent aggression is not true.
This was stated by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia, Aram Torosyan, in an interview with ‘Factinfo’. It is worth noting that information had circulated in the media that shortly after the military operations began on September 13, a large and experienced detachment from Artsakh had arrived in Jermuk to support the defense of our borders.
‘Haykakan Jamanak’ reported that the detachment consisted of well-trained soldiers who had fought in Artsakh, with links to Artsakh President Araik Harutyunyan and his bodyguards.
According to the website, ‘The detachment was led by the Deputy Head of the NSS of Artsakh, the renowned Cholkan, National Hero Ararat Melkumyan, Head of the RA Police Vadim Yesayan, and special forces commander Roland Aydinyan.’
