Borrell on Putin's Nuclear Weapon Statements
Josep Borrell, the head of European Union diplomacy, stated that the nuclear threats from Russian President Vladimir Putin should be taken seriously. He made these comments in an interview with the BBC.
According to him, the announcement of mobilization in the Russian Federation and attempts to annex parts of Lugansk, Donetsk, Kherson, and Zaporizhia are a "dangerous moment."
"The Russian army has found itself in a corner, and Putin's response – the threat of using nuclear weapons – is very bad," Borrell said.
He emphasized that any peace in Ukraine must occur while preserving the country's territorial integrity and sovereignty, or there will be renewed war in the future.
Regarding Putin's statements about potential readiness to use nuclear weapons, the diplomat noted that threats from the Russian president should be taken seriously.
"When people say it's not a bluff, they should be taken seriously," he concluded.
