During a joint press conference between U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and National Assembly President Alen Simonyan, the simultaneous translation services were not provided adequately, leading to disciplinary action against Vahan Naribekyan, the Chief of Staff of the National Assembly. “Guided by the provisions of Article 223, Part 1, Point 1 of the Labor Code of the Republic of Armenia and Point 1 of the 18th sub-point of Annex 1 of the decision AAP-006-L of the National Assembly Council dated June 12, 2017, I hereby order: 1. A disciplinary measure in the form of a reprimand shall be applied to Vahan Naribekyan for improper performance of his duties,” the decision reads.
