One of the Three Arrested Following the Surmalu Explosion Released: New Details

On August 14, a blast occurred at the Surmalu shopping center, leading to the investigation of the incident with 130 individuals interrogated. Vardan Tadevosyan, spokesperson for the Investigative Committee, stated this to 24News.

“Ninety people have been recognized as victims, of which 55 suffered physical injuries, and 35 experienced financial losses. Four individuals have the status of defendants, three of whom were detained, but one was released on bail by court decision,” Tadevosyan noted.

When asked about actions taken regarding the demolition of the emergency building at the Surmalu shopping center due to wind conditions, and whether individuals interrogated are involved, Tadevosyan responded that a criminal case has been opened under Article 142, Part 2, and additional interrogations will be conducted if necessary.
