Russian President Did Not Say Such a Thing: Zakharova

The official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, has called the alleged quotation of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s words regarding nuclear threats by US President Joe Biden shameless.

“The speech of the US president is shameless not because they have no right to deal with other countries. The fact is that he has started from a supposed quote of the Russian president. We have checked Biden’s words. He clearly says it, while the Russian president did not say such a thing,” the diplomat clarified during a live broadcast on “Solovyov Live.”

As Zakharova noted, the US president has recorded what is now being disseminated in the American media. “This is an absolutely propagandistic move being imposed on the public, public opinion, contrary to everything that has actually been said,” Zakharova concluded.

On the previous day, during his speech from the UN General Assembly podium, Biden stated that the Russian president allegedly openly threatens the use of nuclear weapons, thus disregarding the disarmament regime. This statement came just hours after Putin’s address to citizens, where he claimed that the West had exceeded the limits in anti-Russian rhetoric and that constant threats have been directed at Russia. The Russian president emphasized that “nuclear blackmail” has been launched by the West. Putin reminded the US and NATO allies that Russia’s military technology surpasses foreign counterparts in certain components, warning those who threaten Russia with nuclear weapons that the winds may also turn towards them.
