The Large-Scale Aggression Was Pre-Planned: Suren Papikyan
On September 15, Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan met with Toivo Klaar, the European Union's Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the Crisis in Georgia. The meeting was also attended by Andrea Victorin, the head of the EU Delegation to Armenia.
Expressing gratitude for the prompt response to the situation and the visit to the region, Papikyan presented the circumstances resulting from Azerbaijan's large-scale aggression against Armenia's sovereign territory on September 13.
The Defense Minister emphasized that the large-scale aggression was a pre-planned Azerbaijani provocation. In terms of resolving the situation, he stressed the need for the international community, including the EU, to provide a clear assessment of the recent aggression.
The EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the Crisis in Georgia outlined the EU's position on the urgent cessation of military operations, emphasizing the necessity of resolving all existing disputes through exclusively diplomatic means.
Toivo Klaar also reaffirmed the EU's commitment to facilitating the resumption of the negotiating process between the parties and reaching agreements.
