Putin Arrives in Samarkand, Meetings with Erdogan and Aliyev Scheduled

Russian President Vladimir Putin has arrived in Samarkand today, where on September 15-16, he will participate in person for the first time in three years in the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), TASS reports.

Putin will meet with foreign leaders in both bilateral and multilateral formats, including Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, and Chinese leader Xi Jinping.

Additionally, on September 15, a trilateral summit involving Russia, Mongolia, and China will take place with the participation of the heads of state.

On September 16, President Putin will have bilateral meetings with Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

After all events, Putin is expected to communicate with representatives of Russian media.

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization, founded in 2001, currently includes member states such as India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. Observer countries are Afghanistan, Belarus, Iran, and Mongolia.

It should be noted that due to the current situation, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia will not participate in the meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Samarkand.
