Karin Tonoyan Unveils Action Plan
Karin Tonoyan has issued a statement outlining an action plan.
“Dear compatriots,
First, regarding yesterday's events: the gathering near the National Assembly was spontaneous, as was the platform formed during the assembly; therefore, the statements made were unorganized. We do not support any statements that had shades of inciting violence or chaos, as they are not part of our agenda. Our agenda and our upcoming actions are as follows, around which the mobilization of the people will take place.
We note that the support base for the individual currently holding the position of Prime Minister of Armenia and the individuals serving his anti-national and anti-state decisions (also with silent consent) includes the following state bodies: the National Assembly, the Government, a significant portion of the Judicial system, the Police, and the National Security Service. A large segment of the media field supports him, including Public Television and radio, civil society organizations, and dominant actors in the economic sphere, including individuals that are part of the oligarchic system who have also deeply integrated into the current government.
Our primary goal is to deprive the individual holding the position of Prime Minister of his support base and to remove him from office. We aim to form a transitional government, implement crisis management, prioritize state resources to restore Armenia’s security system, re-equip our army with new technological combat capabilities, and ensure its obligation as outlined in the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia: ‘The armed forces of the Republic of Armenia ensure the defense, security, territorial integrity, and inviolability of the borders of the Republic of Armenia.’
To realize the aforementioned, the following actions are required:
Action Group 1: Temporarily paralyze the criminal cooperation of state structures, organizations, groups, and individuals that support anti-state decisions (until the resignation of the individual in the position of Prime Minister). Starting today, through PEACEFUL NON-COMPLIANCE actions, block any kind of activity in the main centers of Government – ministries, regional administrations, and the actual headquarters of the government. You need to go out onto the streets, self-organize, and peacefully block the headquarters of these bodies and disrupt their activities until the individual in question resigns. We will also carry out the same actions against the Supreme Judicial Council, Public Television, and other government media, civil society organizations supporting the government, and the main enterprises of the oligarchic system.
Action Group 2: Concurrently, we will block the National Assembly building. Through PEACEFUL NON-COMPLIANCE actions and explanatory work, we will direct the members of the CP party to present themselves at the National Assembly and join the document expressing no confidence in the individual holding the position of Prime Minister, which the opposition forces in the National Assembly are obliged to initiate in accordance with the people’s demand from yesterday.
The peaceful actions of disobedience that disrupt the activities of the mentioned bodies, organizations, and individuals will continue until we achieve the resignation of the individual occupying the position of Prime Minister.
Action Group 3: Alongside the first two groups of actions, we will form the agenda of the transitional government and the circle of people executing that agenda. The acting head of the transitional government will be an individual who will operate strictly within the declared agenda and will execute the decisions of crisis management in a collegial manner. This person must enjoy high public confidence.
We also declare that all state officials and all representatives of state bodies, as well as all CP members who publicly refuse to collaborate with the individual currently holding the position of Prime Minister will receive security guarantees from the transitional government, which will ensure and guarantee the safety of them and their families.
Finally, we address all representatives of the current and former ranks of commanders with high military ranks in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia. Refuse to cooperate with the individual holding the position of Prime Minister; join us, the people, and together we will restore the crumbling security system. The Armenian nation awaits the mobilization of its worthy sons for effective and sacrificial actions for the state and the people.
May God bless our people, our state, and our army, the guarantor of our state and people’s security.
The statement is open for joining.”
