Women and Children Have Voluntarily Left Jermuk: Deputy Mayor Provides Details

Artillery is active towards the city of Jermuk, and the road in and out of the city is at risk. This was reported to Azatutyun by Jermuk’s Deputy Mayor Vardan Sargsyan, who noted that while the asphalt section of the road has not yet been damaged, it is receiving nearby strikes.

“As of now, there are no injuries among civilians,” said the deputy mayor, adding that women and children have mostly exited the city voluntarily. “From the very first moment the problem began, the residents have left the city voluntarily—those who wanted to leave have done so, and those who didn't are staying, utilizing shelters, fighting, and doing whatever they can. The municipality is supporting those who want to leave. If they have transportation issues, we are solving those; if they have food problems, we are addressing those as well; if there's a need for clothing, we provide clothing—just depending on the situation, either a bit early or a bit late,” Sargsyan stated.
