Video: We will sign a document that will cause many to call us traitors, says Pashinyan

The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, spoke about the issues facing Armenia at the conclusion of the Q&A session between the National Assembly and the government, stating that solutions must be found.

“I have taken responsibility to make difficult decisions for the sake of peace. However, ‘difficult decisions’ do not mean decisions that contradict Armenia's state interests. We must make these decisions to guarantee the security, long-term stability, and peace of Armenia. We cannot today write a ‘peace agreement’ in the headlines and sign it without foresight, knowing that a war might start six months later. We want to sign a document that will result in many criticizing us, many cursing us, many calling us traitors, and the people may even decide to remove us from power. Nevertheless, we would still be satisfied and grateful if as a result of this, Armenia with its 29,800 square kilometers gains lasting peace and security.

I state very clearly that I will sign that decision which ensures this. I am not interested in what will happen to me afterwards; I am interested in what will happen to Armenia afterwards,” he stated.
