Mayor of Jermuk on the Situation in the City

Currently, there is no firing on the city of Jermuk in Vayots Dzor. This was stated by the mayor Vahagn Arsenyan in an interview with NEWS.am, noting that the adversary fired on the city yesterday before 9 a.m.

“They are firing next to the road, but not at the road itself. It is false information that they are firing on civilian infrastructure; there is no such thing. The fire that broke out in the adjacent forests has also been extinguished, and there is only a smoldering hot spot,” said the mayor.

Earlier, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense, Aram Torosyan, stated in a conversation with us that as of 10:30, Azerbaijani units had used mortars in the direction of Jermuk, shelling civilian infrastructure.

It should be reminded that the Ministry of Defense had reported earlier that, despite the remaining directions of aggression unleashed the previous day, no significant incidents were recorded. From 08:00 on September 14, the adversary has again initiated offensive actions, using artillery, mortars, and large-caliber firearms, particularly in the directions of Jermuk and Verin Shorja.
