Armenia Should Appeal to the International Criminal Court, Tatoyan
Armenia should appeal to the International Criminal Court, recognizing the court's jurisdiction. This action is urgent in the context of Azerbaijan's aggression and mass crimes against Armenia, as stated by former Armenian Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan.
"The President of Azerbaijan, along with the leaders of its special services and military, must be subjected to international criminal liability and punishment. The international criminal prosecution of these individuals will serve a preventive function against the ongoing genocidal policies," emphasized Tatoyan.
He further explained, "Given the urgency of the matter, we can recognize the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court at this moment, and later we can also ratify the court's statute, fulfilling the necessary conditions. We can temporarily recognize the jurisdiction of the court, but this must be done immediately. There are sufficient grounds for this, and the court's statute provides us with that opportunity."
