Putin is Making Every Effort to Reduce Tensions, Peskov

Russian President Vladimir Putin is making all efforts to reduce tensions, as stated by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of Russia, during a conversation with journalists regarding the recent attack launched by Baku at the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.

According to TASS agency, Peskov confirmed that President Putin had a phone conversation with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan yesterday evening, where the escalation at the Armenian and Azerbaijani border was discussed.

Peskov noted that intensive work is being conducted at the expert level toward dep escalation between Yerevan and Baku, and the Kremlin will report once results are obtained.

He emphasized that the role of the Russian Federation in the resolution of the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan cannot be overestimated, asserting that Putin is doing everything possible to alleviate the tension.

It is noteworthy that starting from 00:05, Azerbaijani armed forces have begun to intensively fire upon Armenian positions using artillery, large-caliber firearms, and drones in the directions of Goris, Sotk, and Jermuk.

As reported by the Ministry of Defense of Armenia, as of 8 AM, the situation at the Armenian-Azerbaijani border has not undergone significant changes. The adversary continues to use artillery, mortars, drones, and large-caliber firearms in the directions of Vardenis, Sotk, Artanish, Ishkhanasar, Goris, and Kapan, targeting both military and civilian infrastructure. In certain sections of the border, positional battles continue, and the adversary does not cease its attempts to advance.

During a session in the National Assembly, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that, according to preliminary information, there are 49 casualties; however, this number is not final and will be clarified by the Ministry of Defense.
