France Calls UN Security Council Meeting on Armenia-Azerbaijan Border Issues
France is convening a meeting of the UN Security Council to discuss the escalation of tensions at the Armenia-Azerbaijan border. This was reported by RIA Novosti.
It was revealed the day before that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had a phone conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron. Pashinyan informed Macron that Azerbaijan had initiated provocative and aggressive military actions against Armenia's sovereign territory from midnight, in various directions along the border.
Pashinyan expressed deep concern regarding the situation and emphasized the importance of a proportional response from the international community.
President Macron deemed the further escalation of tensions unacceptable and underscored the necessity of de-escalating the situation.
