Azerbaijani Forces Use Artillery in the Direction of Sotk

Gunfire continues in the direction of the village of Sotk in the Gegharkunik region, with Azerbaijani forces also using artillery to target civilians and objects. This was stated to 24News by the head of the administrative district, Sevak Khachatryan.

Khachatryan emphasized that the situation is extremely tense, making it difficult to provide further details.

This morning, the mayor of Sotk published photos on his Facebook page, stating, "The building of the community center has been damaged due to the shelling overnight in Sotk; several houses have been burned, and some roofs and windows have been damaged. The extent of the damage is still unclear." The latest statement from the Ministry of Defense noted that as of 14:00, the situation along certain sections of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border remains extremely tense.

“Despite a significant de-escalation in the intensity of the shelling, the enemy continues to attempt positional advancements, particularly in the directions of Nerkhin Hand, Verin Shorzha, Artanish, and Sotk. The units of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia continue to fully carry out their assigned combat tasks,” the statement added.

The report indicated that the preliminary number of casualties due to Azerbaijan's large-scale aggression is 49.
