"We Are in a Difficult Situation, We Need a Surge of Efforts": Artsakh MP
Many of you might not have been aware of why our military had gone to the positions; many of you are not aware that the troops need not only "moral support" and "serious advice" but also simple physical work—lifting beams together to the positions, filling a couple of shovels of dirt over a trench. This observation was made by Artsakh MP Karen Aghanyan.
“It was the Independence Day of the Republic of Artsakh, a sacred day in the history of the Armenian people. Independence was not easily granted to us; blood and sweat were shed on the way to achieving the goal, and much more will still be shed. They walked carefreely, surrounded by joyful smiles, with a lightness that was unfounded, carrying slogan placards that did not match the present reality. Why unfounded? Because there is still too much work to be done along the border to allow us to walk, sing, dance carefree, and fill the tables with toasts.”
“What I want to say is that many of you might not have been aware of why our military had gone to the positions; many of you do not realize that the troops need not only 'moral support' and 'serious advice,' but also simple physical work—lifting beams together to the positions, filling a couple of shovels of dirt over a trench. If our fathers, older friends were also orators, perhaps September 2 would be a maximum of a celebratory day, following the occasion of September 1. We are in a difficult situation; we need a surge of efforts and solidarity—not just in words but genuinely and substantively,” he wrote on his Facebook page.
