VIDEO: Farewell to Gorbachev in Moscow

Farewell ceremonies for former USSR President Mikhail Gorbachev are taking place at the House of Trade Unions in Moscow. This information has been reported by RIA Novosti.

Some representatives of the media were unable to attend the event, as many, including foreign journalists and representatives from major federal publications, were not included in the accreditation lists. All journalists had previously sent their passport details, press card copies, and photographs to the event organizers. Those whose names were not on the lists were left waiting outside.

At the start of the ceremony, journalists who remained outside were informed that no additional accreditation lists had been prepared and were asked to decide whether to continue waiting or leave.

After the farewell ceremony, Gorbachev will be laid to rest at the Novodevichy Cemetery. The first and last president of the USSR, Mikhail Gorbachev, passed away on August 30 at the age of 91.
