Mass Protests in Prague
In Prague, approximately 50,000 people have taken to the streets demanding the government to adopt a neutral stance regarding the Ukrainian conflict. The protesters are calling for the government to resign, secure cheap gas for the country, and also to 'stop accepting Ukrainian refugees.'
The organizers of the rally have stated that the government is taking delayed and inadequate measures to combat the sharp rise in energy resource prices and the subsequent overall increase in the cost of goods and services, which primarily affects retirees and the country's poor citizens. Additionally, many businesses and firms are forced to lay off their employees.
It has also been noted that several dozen police officers are overseeing the order during the demonstration.
