Kadyrov Announces Intent to Resign as Head of Chechnya

Kadyrov has announced his intention to resign from the post of Head of Chechnya, reports TASS.

“It turns out that I am among the 'long-livers' of the current heads of the subjects of the Russian Federation. I have been leading Chechnya for 15 years now. I believe that my time has come, before they remove me. We have already started thinking about this,” Kadyrov said in a video posted on his Telegram channel.

In the video caption, he mentioned that he believes he “deserves an indefinite vacation.” According to Kadyrov, he was once “the youngest and most inexperienced,” while now he feels inexperienced, but his “youth has gone somewhere.”
