Video: What the New Road Bypassing Berdzor Looks Like, Including Azerbaijani Presence
The only road connecting Artsakh to Armenia, the "Lachin Corridor," has ceased to operate since August 30. For the past three days, citizens of Artsakh and Armenia have been using an alternative route, much of which has been constructed by Azerbaijan, reports Hraparak.am.
The news outlet notes that Russian peacekeepers have established checkpoints along the entire length of the road to ensure the safety of travelers in the area. We were informed that this is a temporary road, and it will no longer be operational for us in a few months.
The media outlet traveled the newly constructed road and filmed some of its sections. It was reported that Azerbaijani vehicles were encountered along certain parts of the road, as some sections are in joint use; however, there are places where Russians temporarily close the road for Armenians to allow Azerbaijani vehicles or heavy machinery to pass.
