Soldiers Should Have Properly Orientated and Realized They Would Become Scapegoats: Levon Kocharyan

“They are trying to shift the blame from themselves, so to speak, and place it on the soldiers. The soldiers should have oriented themselves correctly in time and understood that this was going to be the outcome; they would become scapegoats,” said Levon Kocharyan, the son of former Armenian President Robert Kocharyan, during a conversation with journalists.

He mentioned, “We all know who the number one culprit is.”

“Our ongoing struggle is aimed at explaining to our citizens the next steps. If we compare the realities of a year ago with those of today, we see that we are conceding step by step. Of course, we must do everything to ensure that the guilty are punished,” he added.

In response to a journalist's question about how long they can simply go out into the streets and say, ‘we are fighting and that’s it,’ Levon Kocharyan replied:

“The purpose of all this, whether it be gatherings, marches, or various social platforms, is to explain to people, to say and repeat without getting tired. It is certainly painful if a portion of our society agrees with all of this. I don’t want to think that it is so, but I don't know any other means of struggle; we must fight this way, and not lose hope.”
