Situation at Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant: Grossi Provides Details

The physical integrity of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant has been compromised due to shelling, with most of the safety systems operating "relatively well." This was stated by the head of the facility, Rafael Grossi.

He noted that the IAEA has established a permanent presence at the plant. According to him, two inspectors and six representatives of the IAEA will continue to operate at the nuclear facility.

Earlier reports indicated that the IAEA delegation spent exactly 3 hours and 20 minutes at the Zaporizhzhia NPP before leaving the site. "The mission of the IAEA at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant is to protect the facility from a potential nuclear accident," said Director General Grossi upon arrival.

"We must do everything necessary to reach an agreement with both sides," he added.
