VIDEO: IAEA to Establish Permanent Presence at Zaporizhzhia NPP
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is establishing a permanent presence at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, said IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi.
“We are wrapping up a long-awaited visit to the Zaporizhzhia NPP. I just completed my first tour of the main areas we wanted to see during our initial visit. Of course, there is still much to be done. My team is staying. And more importantly, we are here to establish the IAEA's permanent presence,” he stated in a video message.
Earlier, it was reported that the IAEA delegation remained at the Zaporizhzhia NPP for a direct 3 hours and 20 minutes before leaving the site.
“The IAEA's mission at the Zaporizhzhia NPP is to protect the plant from a possible nuclear accident,” Director General Grossi noted upon arrival. “We must do everything to reach an agreement with both sides,” he added.
