Serbia Begins Military Exercises Near Kosovo Border
Serbia has begun military exercises near the Kosovo border. This was reported by Readovka. The Serbian armed forces announced during the night that they would be conducting exercises near the border with Kosovo. The Ministry of Defense clarified that these exercises are aimed at maintaining high combat readiness of the involved units, as well as increasing the responsiveness to risks and threats at the border.
They noted that there is nothing unusual about these exercises, as they are held regularly each year.
Previously, Pristina sought to implement new regulations requiring all individuals entering from Serbia to obtain new documents and re-register their vehicles. However, the countries later reached an agreement that neither would require the provision of new documents upon entry.
Under the new regulations, Serbs entering Kosovo will apply special adhesive labels to their vehicles' plates, similar to what Kosovars do when entering Serbia.
In early August, a genuine military conflict erupted due to Pristina's demands, with American KFOR soldiers visible at the border of the unrecognized republic, and NATO was prepared to intervene in the conflict. However, the situation was 'frozen,' and eventually both sides reached a compromise.
