Russia Appeals for UN Security Council Meeting on Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant
The United Nations Security Council will convene on September 22 to discuss the issue of 'maintaining peace and security in Ukraine'. This information is included in the extensive work program of the Security Council under the presidency of France this month, as reported by Life.ru.
Moscow has requested a Security Council meeting in connection with the ongoing shelling of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant by Ukrainian armed forces on September 6.
It is worth noting that the last time the UN Security Council met was on August 23, at Russia's initiative. Following that meeting, Russia showcased images that confirmed the shelling of the power plant by Kyiv. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky participated in the virtual meeting of the UN Security Council despite Russia's objections.
