It is known who accompanied Pashinyan in Brussels and for what purpose: 'Hraparak'
The newspaper 'Hraparak' reports that Nikol Pashinyan traveled to Brussels yesterday for another meeting with Charles Michel and Ilham Aliyev. Normally, the Armenian Prime Minister is accompanied by 3-4 security personnel from the State Protection Service during such meetings, not counting other accompanying individuals. However, this time that number has tripled. We were informed that more than 10 employees of the State Protection Service accompanied Pashinyan this time.
We inquired whether the reason for bringing such a large escort to Brussels was due to increasing fears for his own life, perhaps fearing an assassination attempt against him. We were told that it is unlikely; more probable is that Pashinyan is worried about protests organized by the Armenian community in Brussels, which is the purpose behind the enhanced security. Furthermore, all these individuals receive high per diems and stay in expensive hotels, all funded by our state budget.
