Armenia Participates in the 'Vostok-2022' Command-Staff Exercises Held in Russia
Today, the opening ceremony of the 'Vostok-2022' strategic command-staff exercises (SKSHU) took place at the Sergeyevsky training ground in the Primorsky Krai, as reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
In a ceremonial atmosphere, the flag of the 'Vostok-2022' exercises was raised during the general formation of the participating troops. The opening of the exercises was announced by the Deputy Minister of Defense of Russia, General-Colonel Yunus-Bek Yevkurov, in the presence of leaders of military contingents from foreign states: 'Today, soldiers and officers from ten countries stand as one formation, and in total, 14 countries are participating in the exercises,' said the Russian military official addressing the participants.
'Tens of thousands of servicemen and thousands of equipment are carrying out combat readiness tasks in real-time across nine polygons, following a single plan.' It was noted that representatives from the military departments of the participating states—Azerbaijan, Algeria, Armenia, Belarus, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Laos, Mongolia, Nicaragua, Syria, and Tajikistan—also delivered welcoming remarks to the personnel.
According to the report, the representative of the Armenian Ministry of Defense participating in the exercises is Colonel Sasun Badasyan. All speakers emphasized the peaceful nature of the ongoing joint exercises, their commitment to understanding and cooperation, and the strengthening of military cooperation between the armed forces of the participating states. They urged coalition servicemen to demonstrate high mastery, professionalism, and cooperation during the joint implementation of combat readiness tasks.
