Kim Jong Un Tests Positive for COVID-19 Following Announcement of Victory Over Pandemic
North Korean media confirms that the country's leader, Kim Jong Un, has tested positive for the coronavirus. This announcement comes shortly after the North Korean leader proclaimed victory over the virus.
According to Forbes, the state newspaper, Rodong Sinmun, reported the day before that the DPRK leader is suffering from a "high fever." Pyongyang uses this term when referring to COVID-19, notes the Western publication.
On August 11, Kim Jong Un formally announced the victory in the anti-epidemic campaign, after which his sister, Kim Yo Jong, reported that the North Korean leader had been unwell during the country's recent COVID-19 outbreak.
