Illegal Construction of Shiraz Member of Yerevan Council Demolished in Gyumri

An illegally constructed building at the intersection of Tigran Mets and Levon Madoyan streets in Gyumri has been demolished. The Gyumri municipality reported this, noting that the demolition work was overseen by Gyumri Mayor Vardges Samsonyan.

According to the statement, unauthorized construction in the area had started days earlier, which was immediately followed by the mayor's directive to prevent and halt the ongoing work.

Knarik Harutyunyan, the head of the Civil Contract faction in the Gyumri council, stated on her Facebook page that the construction was being carried out by a member of the Civil Contract faction of the Gyumri council. She wrote, “The illegal construction at the intersection of Levon Madoyan and Tigran Mets streets, which had recently become a subject of discussion, has been dismantled. This construction was being carried out by our colleague from the Civil Contract faction in the Gyumri council. Such activities are not and will not be encouraged by our faction in the Gyumri council; such manifestations are unacceptable to us and condemnable. The actions of our ruling party colleague are a consequence of haste and misunderstanding. Before the law, everyone is equal, regardless of party affiliation and political views.”
