«Warm Our Homes»: Moldovan Opposition Leader Appeals to Russia and Gazprom

“I want to directly appeal to the government of the Russian Federation and the leadership of Gazprom with a request to warm our homes,” stated Ilan Shor, the leader of the Moldovan opposition, who intends to personally visit Moscow to negotiate gas supplies.

However, Ilan is considered undesirable in the country, where he is accused of taking 1 billion euros abroad. For this reason, the authorities are prepared to imprison Ilan for 7.5 years.

The opposition leader is currently in Israel.

The gas situation in Moldova is critical, as the authorities are now planning to heat homes this winter with fuel oil and firewood. However, it is already known that the firewood will be insufficient during the winter season, with only 800,000 cubic meters available instead of the required 2 million.
