Armenian Foreign Ministry Responds to Russian Embassy's Note
The Armenian Foreign Ministry has officially responded to the note from the Russian Embassy. This was announced by Vahan Hunanyan, the spokesperson for the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, to Sputnik Armenia.
However, the content of the note has not been disclosed by the foreign affairs agency.
“The content of the note is part of internal diplomatic correspondence and, accordingly, we do not consider it appropriate to publish it,” the comment provided to Sputnik Armenia stated.
It is recalled that on August 17, it became known that the Russian Embassy in Armenia had sent a note to the Armenian Foreign Ministry due to information speculations regarding Russia. The embassy's statement noted that they were outraged by the cynical speculations circulating in the local information sphere, which contained defamatory and false accusations against Russian entities related to the tragic event that occurred on August 14 at the Surmalu shopping center.
On August 18, Ivan Nechayev, deputy director of the Information and Press Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, stated that Moscow is awaiting an official response from Yerevan regarding the note addressed to the Armenian Foreign Ministry.
