Support for Families of Victims and Those Affected by the Surmalu Explosion Under Discussion
The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of Armenia is in discussions regarding a state support program for the families of citizens who lost their lives in the explosion at the Surmalu shopping center, as well as for those who were physically injured.
In response to a query from Armenpress, the spokesperson for the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Zara Manucharyan, stated: “Currently, discussions are underway at the ministry regarding the implementation of a state support program for the families of citizens who died in the explosion at the Surmalu shopping center, as well as for those who suffered physical injuries. We will provide additional information regarding the exact scope of the beneficiaries, forms of assistance, and other details when we have a clearer picture.”
When asked if support would also extend to businesses affected by the explosion, Zara Manucharyan informed that this issue falls outside the authority of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs.
