Former Teacher of Dilijan Mayor Files Complaint Against Him
Journalist Voskay Sargsyan's comment: “The teacher of the Dilijan mayor has filed a complaint against him with the police. Aspraham Hayrapetyan, a resident of the village of Haghartsin, has been reporting for a long time about the lack of sewer systems in their neighborhood, the open flow of foul sewage, and the terrible unsanitary conditions.
In order to discuss the solution to this issue with Dilijan community leader David Sargsyan, Aspraham went to the mayor's office on August 9, accompanied by her minor child. The mayor was not present, and the secretary urged Aspraham to wait. Aspraham and her child sat in the reception area. The child wanted to connect to the city hall's Wi-Fi, but the mother did not allow it; however, she turned on her own phone to fix her hair. The child touched the phone with his finger, connected to it, and a certain tilted shot was captured from the reception area. After that, Aspraham turned off the phone.
The community leader arrived and became extremely angry, calling the police department in Dilijan due to Aspraham allegedly filming a “strategic object” in the mayor's office “during wartime.” Aspraham gave her phone to the mayor, saying that he could check it, as it contained no dangerous images. However, D. Sargsyan refused. Notably, A. Hayrapetyan was once D. Sargsyan’s teacher, where they studied German together in school.
Aspraham then left the mayor's office. Following Sargsyan's call, the local inspector from Haghartsin and a police officer from Dilijan came to the mayor's office. The police in Dilijan checked Aspraham's phone, reviewed the available photos, and laughed.
A. Hayrapetyan stated that her minor child was frightened by the community leader’s aggressive behavior, and when they plan to go to Dilijan, the child asks, ‘Mom, are we going to be taken by the police again?’
On August 10, A. Hayrapetyan filed a report of a crime against the Dilijan mayor with the Dilijan police department. She also submitted a written request to the Tavush regional administration regarding the poor condition of the open sewer line in their neighborhood in Haghartsin village.”
