28-Year-Old Pregnant Woman Went to 'Surmalu' with Her Sister and 4-Year-Old Son: Details

28-year-old pregnant Siranush Khachatryan was at the 'Surmalu' shopping center to make purchases for her unborn child, accompanied by her sister and 4-year-old son.

According to NEWS.am, Siranush was from Yeghvard, married in Yeghegnadzor, and worked in the service sector. Her sister, Mariam, 30, lived with their parents in Yeghvard and was not married. Their brother had been conscripted into the army earlier this summer.

It is recalled that the explosion at the 'Surmalu' shopping center occurred on August 14, resulting in 16 fatalities as of August 16 at 1:00 PM. The identities of 14 of the deceased have been confirmed. The Ministry of Emergency Situations has released their names: Misak Patvakanov Margaryan, born in 1964; Anahit Vazgeni Mkhitaryan, born in 1967; Jemma Sargsi Nazaryan, born in 1960; Anahit Zarzandi Khalatyan; Vardan Gurgeni Kocharyan, born in 1960; Gayane Artavazdi Avetisyan, born in 1966; Aram Komisari Hayrapetyan, born in 1980; Vachagan Vahagni Yeghoyan, born in 2000; Ernaz Manveli Grigoryan, born in 1980; Harutyun Samveli Garakyan, born in 1987; Mariam Armeni Khachatryan, born in 1992; Siranush Armeni Khachatryan, born in 1994; Marat Karen Shahbazyan, born in 2018; and Hrachya Fanbergi Sargsyan, born in 1976.

Ten people are still reported missing. The explosion injured 61 civilians, with 7 remaining hospitalized, and their health status is assessed as satisfactory.
