Australian Liberal Party Recognizes Independence of Artsakh Republic: Babayan
The Foreign Minister of Artsakh, Davit Babayan, stated on his Facebook page that “On August 11, the Australian Liberal Party recognized the independence of the Artsakh Republic at a conference held in New South Wales and condemned the genocides perpetrated against Armenians, Assyrians, and Greeks by Turkey, urging the Australian federal government to also recognize the independence of the Artsakh Republic.”
Recently, the Armenian-Australian Friendship Group of the New South Wales Parliament also made a statement condemning Azerbaijan's aggressive policy towards the Artsakh Republic.
We express our gratitude to the Australian Liberal Party and the Armenian-Australian Friendship Group of the New South Wales Parliament for such initiatives. This is an important political and moral support to the people of Artsakh and a commendable demonstration of humanity and friendship.
We also thank the Australian-Armenian community for their continuous support to Artsakh. The Australian-Armenian community is one of the most organized within our diaspora, actively involved in addressing pan-Armenian issues and defending our national interests,” Babayan wrote.
