Emergency Incident in Yerevan: Fire Breaks Out in Elevator Shaft of a Building, Casualties Reported, Residents Evacuated

On August 7, at 11:47 AM, the National Crisis Management Center received a report that a fire had broken out in the elevator shaft of a building located at 42/2 Hayrik Muradyan Street in Yerevan. Preliminary information indicates that there are casualties. This was reported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia.

Emergency response teams, including the operational group of the National Crisis Management Center, two fire trucks from the Yerevan Rescue Directorate, an aerial ladder, and rescue units from the special-purpose rescue operations center, were dispatched to the scene. A "1-BIS" fire complexity level was declared, triggering the response of two additional fire trucks and one aerial ladder. Evacuation efforts for residents are currently underway.
