Body Retrieved from Lake Sevan

On August 7, a tragic incident occurred in the Gegharkunik region. According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, at approximately 13:48, a report was received that a man had submerged while swimming at a family beach in the administrative area of Sevan, near the village of Norashen, and there had been no news of him for about 20 minutes.

Sevan police and investigators have determined that the deceased was 42-year-old Karen G., a resident of Yerevan. According to G. Shamshyan, he drowned at the family beach called 'Vik-Son', adjacent to the Chkalovka community. The diver found the man’s body about 10 meters from the shore and at a depth of approximately 5 meters, and retrieved it from the lake.
