What Happened: The Horrific Reality, MP

Negotiators representing Armenia have reached separate agreements with Azerbaijan and Turkey to make all concessions by the Armenian side at the expense of Artsakh. This was stated on her Facebook page by Kristine Vardanyan, an MP from the "Armenia" faction in the National Assembly.

“What has happened: the horrific reality Negotiators representing Armenia have reached separate agreements with Azerbaijan and Turkey concerning all concessions by the Armenian side at the expense of Artsakh. The goal of such an agreement is singular: both the Turkish-Azerbaijani tandem and the actual leaders of Armenia believe that this option inflicts the least damage to Nikol's dictatorship. Nikol needs this to stay in power for as long as possible, while Turkey and Azerbaijan need this option to keep their window of opportunities open for as long as possible.

Where are the national forces? In this context, we must avoid even using the term opposition, as there is no opposition-government struggle. There is a national field and there are those serving the interests of the enemy. In such circumstances, I consider any attempt to protect any party or individual meaningless. We all have one thing to protect: our homeland. Political forces have primary responsibility and guilt for this situation; there is not much to argue about here.

However, we must avoid falling from one extreme into the arms of another. It is necessary to demand a change in the political situation from national forces, which will inevitably lead to a change in the situation on the ground. It is unrealistic to demand the protection of any territory, resettlement, or changes in educational strategy from the national field in the absence of power. These are exclusively under state mandates and are meaningless if they do not align with state policy.

The mayor of the village of Agavnavo is from the Dashnak party and is a member of the Central Committee of Artsakh; the village was built and inhabited thanks to investments received from the diaspora. In other words, the national field has the desire to protect the village and has done everything within its power in that direction, but the village is being handed over to the enemy as a result of treacherous political agreements. The same is true for the cases of Karvachar and Kashatagh, where national forces have invested $7 million over the years, yet the regions have been surrendered to the enemy with one signature.

Regarding the issue, national forces and individuals are in the same places, trying to find exits from the situation and proposing realistic solutions, attempting to spare the nerves and patience of our people who are tired of catastrophe, deception, and destructive populism.

On this matter, I can only say one thing: it is unacceptable to take offense or even attempt to mock all our compatriots who have turned desperate and helpless gazes towards national forces. All those people should be assured that any responsible national force understands that this is a decisive period and fundamentally puts its existential purpose into question; thus, finding exits from the current situation becomes primarily the path to the salvation of national forces.

What can we do? First, in our national field, we must stop insulting and blaming each other; this is Nikol’s agenda. I assure you, regardless of the scenario's development, there will be enough time for that, allowing us to understand the intentions and capabilities of every actor in these processes. So, mutual accusations and any irrelevant clarifications should be reserved for the future.

I am confident that a potential path to salvation will be proposed, and once again, it will require all our support and participation. The biggest difficulty will be when we need to put aside doubts, distrust, and try once more. This is not enough; we will also need to convince our compatriots who still remain indifferent. But the reality is that we have no other exit, and there is no alternative but to do this together,” she wrote.
