Russian President Vladimir Putin held an operational consultation with members of the Security Council, discussing the escalation of the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh. This was announced to reporters today by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian President.

“The situation related to the escalation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict was also discussed. The urgent need for the implementation of all provisions of the trilateral statement was emphasized,” Peskov noted.

He also revealed that participants in the consultation exchanged views on high-level Russian-Turkish negotiations.

The meeting included Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin, Deputy Secretary of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev, Head of the Kremlin Administration Anton Vaino, Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev, Director of the Federal Security Service Alexander Bortnikov, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev, and Secretary of the Security Council of Russia Sergei Naryshkin.
