Azerbaijan Has Given a Deadline Until September 1, Says Abrahamyan

Azerbaijan has been building a road for months, of which the authorities of Armenia and Artsakh were aware. During this time, they negotiated based on the maps about where the new route should pass. That is, there has been quite a significant amount of time until the events of August 1, and the Armenian authorities were aware that Azerbaijan was constructing a road.

Today, the Armenian authorities are solving one problem, trying to show their ignorance in a pronounced way that Azerbaijan and Russia have reached some kind of agreement regarding the Russian responsibility zone, which is not in line with Armenian interests, but the Armenian authorities were not aware of this. This does not correspond to reality,” he said.

According to Tigran Abrahamyan, the Armenian authorities have agreed behind the scenes to this route, to the transfer of Berdzor, Aghavno, and Sus, but have not implemented the resulting actions. “Understanding that it would pose a significant problem if they did not construct the approximately 7 km section passing through the territory of Armenia in time, they did not build it. Under these circumstances, Azerbaijan has given a deadline until September 1, that the route will change,” he added.
