Former United States President Donald Trump has criticized House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for her decision to visit Taiwan amidst rising tensions between Washington and Beijing.

As reported by skynews.com, Pelosi landed in Taipei on Tuesday evening, becoming the highest-ranking U.S. official to visit Taiwan since 1997. “Why is crazy Nancy Pelosi in Taiwan? She always causes problems. Anything she does turns out badly,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.

The former president had previously warned Pelosi against a potential visit to Taiwan, stating she should not interfere in the situation between China and Taiwan as it would only escalate tensions. “The last thing she should be involved in is China’s chaos. She will only make things worse. Everything she touches turns to chaos, disruptions, and deceit,” Trump wrote.

It is noteworthy that on Tuesday evening, the plane of U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi landed at Taipei International Airport. China has declared that Pelosi's visit to Taiwan constitutes a serious violation of China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
