Tourist Arrivals in Armenia: Which Countries are Contributing?

This year, approximately 590,000 tourists visited Armenia in the first half of the year, said Sisian Poghosyan, head of the Tourism Committee, during a meeting with journalists.

According to the committee head, this is a significantly high figure compared to the same period last year, when 246,021 tourists arrived in the country.

“More than half of the visitors are Russians, about 56 percent, with a considerable number of tourists also coming from Iran, Germany, Georgia, and the USA,” he noted.

Poghosyan added that efforts are underway to increase the number of tourists from France and the UAE, as there is growing interest in these countries.

He believes that there is a trend of growth in the tourism sector, which inspires hope for the development of this area.

Earlier, specialists from the online service OneTwoTrip analyzed user booking data from June 1 to July 15 and found that Russians are most interested in destinations to Turkey, Armenia, and Uzbekistan. Kyrgyzstan ranks fourth, while Azerbaijan comes in fifth.
